Canisius & Niagara get back in win column

Phil Valenti scored 22 points to power Canisius past Manhattan 78-64 on Saturday as the Griffs snapped a three game losing streak.

With the win, Canisius improves to 13-9 overall and 6-5 in the Metro Atlantic. Kassius Robertson and Jermaine Crumpton also hit double figures, adding 18 and 16 points respectively.

Niagara picked up its third win in four games, rallying past Rider for an 80-67 victory.  The Purple Eagles poured in 49 points in the second half and erased a seven-point halftime deficit.

Matt Scott scored 18 points to eclipse the 1,000 point mark in his career. Khalil Dukes dropped in 15 of his 17 points in the second half as Niagara improves to 8-15 overall and 5-7 in conference action.
