BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Former UB basketball players Nick Perkins and CJ Massinburg will both get a shot to play in the NBA Summer League. Following Thursday night's NBA Draft, the duo announced plans on Friday to join summer league teams with Massunburg joining the Brooklyn Nets and Perkins joining the Los Angeles Lakers.
During his senior season with the Bulls, Massinburg averages 18.2 points per game, and finished with a team-high 93 three-pointers. He set the school record for points in a season with 636 and finished his career second all-time in three-pointers with 273 and second on UB's all-time scoring list with 1,990 points.
Perkins is the first player in college basketball history to be named the Mid-American Conference Sixth Man of the Year in three straight seasons. During his senior year, he averaged 14.7 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. He leaves UB fifth on the all-time scoring list.
Both players went undrafted Thursday night when the 2019 NBA Draft took place.
