Niagara women fall 82-76 to Quinnipiac in home finale

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Niagara women's basketball team finished their regular season home schedule with a loss. The Purple Eagles fell to Quinnipiac 82-76 on Thursday night, falling to 9-19 overall and 7-12 in Metro Atlantic play.

After tonight's games, the Purple Eagles sit in 8th in the latest MAAC standings with one game remaining. Given their standings position, they will have to play a first round game in the MAAC postseason tournament.

The Bobcats and Purple Eagles were pretty even matched throughout the night except on the glass where the Purple Eagles were out-rebounded 41-28. Jai Moore led Niagara with a team-high 17 points and five rebounds while Maggie McIntyre chipped in with 12 points and three assists.

Niagara will wrap up their regular season schedule on Saturday when they travel to Fairfield.
