AMHERST, NY (WKBW) — After a dominating season that includes tying or breaking school, conference, and NCAA records, UB running back Jaret Patterson has been named the Mid-American Conference offensive player of the year.
Through five games this season, Patterson has made history in different ways. He's among the best in the nation in rushing [1,025], yards per game [8.3], and rushing touchdowns [18]. He also became just the 12th player in FBS history to rush for 1,000 yards in the first five games.
Patterson also earned the Vern Smith Leadership Award, given annually to the top player in the MAC.
