I'm told Schmidt & Bona have been working on extension for "a while". Schmidt just signed an extension last July through 2020-21. #Bonnies

Schmidt just signed a contract extension in July of 2015 that runs through the 2020-21 season. Over nine seasons as head coach at Bonaventure the Bonnies are 146-132 overall.
Bona is coming off a season in which they went 22-9 overall. Their 14-4 record in the Atlantic 10 was good enough for a tie for first place (with Dayton and VCU). The Bonnies were snubbed by the NCAA Tournament selection committee, failing to make the field of 68. They were then upset in the first round of the NIT by Wagner.
