The UB men and women both were victorious Saturday afternoon as both Bulls teams down the Ohio Bobcats ahead of the final week of the regular season.
The UB men reached triple digits, picking up a 108-82 win, the most points the program has scored in a MAC game. They're now 21-8 overall and 13-3 in the MAC, tying the program record for conference wins in a season.
The Bulls shot 50% or better for the eighth straight game, as they were 52.7% from the floor. Twelve different Bulls landed int he scoring column with Dan Perkins leading the way with 21. Dontay Caruthers added 19 points, his highest since coming back from an injury.
CJ Massinburg added 15 points in the win and moved into 13th place on UB's all-time scoring list.
In all, 12 different Bulls found the scoring column led by 21 points from Perkins, who went 7-of-10 from the floor, including 7-of-8 from inside the arc. Caruthers had 19 points, his highest scoring total since coming back from his injury.
UB has just one more regular season home game on Tuesday night against Akron. A win will give the Bulls the top seed in the MAC Tournament.
The UB women have locked up a top-two seed for next month's Mid-American Conference Tournament.
The Lady Bulls beat Ohio 70-53 Saturday afternoon in front of a packed Alumni Arena, improving their conference record to 14-2 and their overall record to 23-4, a program record in the win column.
It was a day to remember for sophomore Summer Hemphill. She finished with her fifth double-double of the season with 10 points, 23 rebounds and four blocks. Those 23 rebounds broke a school record for most in a game. She finished one rebound shy of the MAC record for rebounds in a game.
Six total player including Hemphill scored in double figures with Autumn Jones leading the way with 14. Cassie Ourlser finished with 12 while Stephanie Reid added 10.
The Bulls are winners of seven straight and will hit the road on Wednesday night as they travel to Kent State. They then host Bowling Green that Saturday to wrap up the regular season.
The Bulls are currently one game behind Central Michigan in the MAC standings.
