The University at Buffalo has found a temporary replacement for former Athletic Director Allen Greene.
On Friday the University announced that Kathy Twist will serve as interim director of athletics beginning on January 29th until a permanent successor is found.
Twist has a long history with the school. Most recently, she's been serving as a senior administrator in the UB Athletics Department. She served as head coach for the women's tennis team for 16 years and is the winningest coach in program history.
In a statement, UB President Tripathi said, "I am grateful to Kathy for her willingness to serve in this important role in an interim capacity, and I extend my thanks and appreciation to Allen and the entire Athletics Department for their continuing commitment to our university's vision of excellence. Thanks in large part to Allen's strong leadership, we are very well positioned to attract outstanding candidates in this national search."
UB says they'll launch a national search soon for Greene's replacement.
Greene stepped down from his position in mid-January after accepting the same position with Auburn University.
