Geneseo Ice Arena named Kraft Hockeyville finalist

Ira S. Wilson Ice Arena, the home of the Geneseo Knights, has been named one of the 10 finalists for the 2017 Kraft Hockeyville competition.

The winning rink will receive $150,000 in rink improvements, along with a chance to host an NHL preseason game. In 2016 the Buffalo Sabres played the Carolina Hurricanes at Lakeview Arena in Marquette, Michigan, the arena that won the competition last season.

“We’re excited to be one step closer to naming the most passionate hockey community in America for 2017, and are astonished by the emotion and spirit depicted in the nearly 1,300 nominations we received,” said Nina Barton, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Kraft Heinz. “It’s going to be a great race to the finish, as each of the top 10 rinks truly embodies the spirit of Kraft Hockeyville USA.”

-Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex – Rochester, N.Y.
-Falmouth Ice Arena – Falmouth, Mass.

West

-Pepsi Ice Center – Bloomington, Ill.
-Douglas Ice Arena – Douglas, Wyo.
-Bloomington Ice Garden – Bloomington, Minn.
-MAYSA Arena – Minot, N.D.
-Riverside Arena – Austin, Minn.
