"I looked at a lot of schools and the one thing that stuck out to me with Florida State was that their competition there is at such a high level," Pezzino said. "They're so serious about what they do with sports and that really stood out to me, and that's what kind of program I want to be put into, so I'm really excited for it."
Pezzino has started for the Grand Island Girl's Varsity team for the past six years -- and during her time as a Viking she's set some pretty incredible records:
Grand Island Single Season Scoring Record - 73 goals, 17 assists, 163 points (2016)
Grand Island Career Scoring Record - 251 goals, 57 assists, 559 points
New York State single season scoring record - 73 goals (2016)
New York State career scoring record - 251 goals
Career overall record: 89-17-12
Pezzino, a former 7 ABC Super 7 Athlete of the Week, graduated from Grand Island early, allowing her to start the spring semester at Florida State and get a head start on both school and soccer.
"One of my goals is definitely to be on the U.S. Women's National Team, make a great impact at Florida State and just and have an amazing career."
