St. Francis and Canisius moved one step closer to the Georgetown Cup finals, each winning Game 1 of their semifinal matchups.
The Red Raiders blanked St. Joe's 9-0, while the Crusaders defeated St. Mary's of Lancaster by the same margin. Each lead the best of three series 1-0. Game 2 of the Georgetown Cup semifinals are on Sunday.
For Canisius, Dan Dallas tossed 5.2 innings of shutout baseball, striking out 12 in the win.
