BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The book on the Williamsville North hockey team's 2019-2020 season might never be closed. On Thursday, the NYSPHSAA indefinitely postponed all of this year's winter championships.

The Spartans found out when they were on a bus to HarborCenter to practice for Saturday's state semifinals.

"One of the goals in high school hockey is to know when your last practice is. That means you made the state final four," head coach Bob Rosen said. "To have this day, the way it unfolded, is unprecedented. You just try to get by and make the best of it."

Williamsville North, the Division I Section 6 champion, was originally supposed to play Victor. Boys' and girls' basketball state playoffs have also been postponed indefinitely.
