ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WKBW) — Four dedicated gymnasts who've put in a lot of hours, working toward one goal.
"This is what I've been training for my whole season," Savannah Sayoc said.
Sayoc, Cali Czarcinski, Brooke Walker and Lea Philarom are Level 9 gymnasts at Gymnastics Unlimited in Orchard Park.
This weekend, all of their hard work will pay off.
"I'm still coming to terms with it but like it's amazing," said Brooke.
"They made it to Nationals which is like the Olympics for their level," added coach Christy Jamieson.
The Eastern Nationals feature some of the best gymnasts from around the eastern part of the United States so to qualify is a big deal. Even bigger is all four teammates qualifying, something these girls did.
"You get to have the support of your teammates," Brooke said. "They've been with you throughout the whole year."
"It's so cool," added Lea. "It's so awesome."
This weekend will be an all-around competition so each gymnast will compete on the uneven bars, the balance beam, the vault and the floor, mentally preparing like they have all season.
"I'll just do what I do at all the meets, " Lea said. "I'll just visualize my routine and I'm super excited to go."
Lea and Cali have been there before while Brooke and Savannah will experience something new. All of them though, share a common goal to do their best.
"You want to do really good because you've put a lot of hard work into it," Cali said.
And as all four get ready for one of the biggest events of their gymnastics career, they're enjoying the journey and can't wait to take it on side by side.
"It's so special and it's so improtant to me that I'm going with all of my friends and teammates," Savannah said. "It makes it so much easier than if I had to do it by myself."
Four gymnasts, four events, and one experience they'll get to share together.
