O'Reilly played for the Sabres from 2015 to 2018 before he was traded to the Blues in the 2018 offseason.
The 29-year-old won the Conn Smythe trophy (playoff MVP) after helping the St. Louis Blues win their first Stanley Cup in franchise history in 2019.
O'Reilly replaces former captain defenseman Alex Pietrangelo who signed with the Vegas Golden Knights this offseason.
