COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (WKBW) — A Buffalo Sabres legend is leading the United States National Team ahead of the 2021 IIHF Men’s World Championship.
Chris Drury, who serves as the associate general manager for the New York Rangers, will lead the team as general manager for the world championship scheduled in Riga, Latvia in May 2021.
Drury played for the Sabres for three seasons from 2003 to 2007, scoring 85 goals and adding 104 assists in 234 games, leading the Sabres to two conference final appearances in 2006 and 2007.
Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams will serve as one of the advisors to Drury.
The World Championship takes place from May 21th to June 6th.
