What number could Jack Eichel be changing to?

While nothing is confirmed, Jack Eichel posted a picture on his Instagram Friday, hinting that a number change is on the horizon.

Eichel’s jersey is covered in the picture, but he’s wearing a helmet with a No. 9 clearly visible. 

Eichel wore No. 9 at Boston University.

Entering his fourth season with the Sabres, Eichel is entering the first year of his new eight-year, $80 million contract.
