BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Third time wasn't the charm for the UB football team as they fell to Troy 42-32 in the Dollar General Bowl on Saturday night. The game was played in Mobile, Alabama.

UB jumped out to the early lead and never trailed until the second half where Troy went ahead 21-17 in the 3rd quarter. The two teams continued to trade leads until Troy ultimately stayed in front.

QB Tyree Jackson finished 20-for-35 for 275 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Freshman running back Jaret Patterson finished with 67 rushing yards and a touchdown. He became the first freshman running back to eclipse 1,000 yards in a season.

The Bulls were making the program's third appearance in the bowl season. They finish with a 10-4 record in arguably one of their best seasons where they reached the MAC Championship game for the first time in a decade. Their 10 wins are the most in program history.

Next up for some of the players is Pro Day where NFL scouts will get a good look at each individual's numbers and skills ahead of the NFL Draft. The last day for college players to declare for the Draft is January 14th.
