Winter Weather Advisory through 7pm Thursday for Southern Erie, Wyoming, Chautauqua, and Cattaraugus Counties. Snow and blowing snow will make for difficult travel. Snow totals will be in the 3 to 7" range.

Lake effect snow showers overnight across the S.Tier with temperatures falling into the upper 20s as winds subside but remain breezy. Wind gusts near 30mph possible through the night and for the day Thursday. A general snow of an inch or two moves through from morning into the early afternoon before lake snow settles south into the evening where accumulations in the most persistent bands reach 4-6". This band will shift north before dissipating early Friday morning. Winds will be relatively calm on Friday and the weather on the quiet side but that all comes to a halt into the evening hours where precipitation will start as snow and switch to rain as winds increase.

This weekend another winter storm whips through WNY with snow/rain, strong wind gusts, lake snow and leaves us with the coldest air of the season into Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Day.
