It may say fall on the calendar, but you'll be able to add a few more beach days to your schedule.
One of the hottest summers on record helped heat up Lake Erie this year. In fact, Lake Erie was one degree shy of tying it's all-time warmest temperature on record!
With seven 90F days this summer, it's no wonder why so many of you flocked on down to the shores of Lake Erie. And if you love the beach, you may be able to dip those toes in the water into October!
Lake Erie is currently 74F. That's the warmest Lake Erie has ever been this time of year. The lake has never been 70F in October. The warmest Lake Erie ever got up to in the month of October was 68F.
Not only have we seen a ridiculous number of 70F days in a row in 2016, Lake Erie is riding out its own streak of 70F days. The last time Lake Erie was in the 60s was almost three months ago.
But all good weather days must come to an end. As we get deeper into fall, cooler air will certainly make it's presence felt. And before you know it, we'll be shoveling....don't think I need to type that four letter word just yet. In other words, get out and enjoy while it lasts. Because the cool makes a return to Western New York within the near future.
