BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz has issued a travel advisory for Erie County Saturday morning, due to severe winter weather across Western New York.
After discussing with @ErieCountyDPW and @ErieCountyESU, I am issuing a Travel Advisory for Erie County. Driving conditions are rapidly deteriorating in central and southern Erie County due to 2-3" rate of snowfall per hour and 35 MPH winds, dropping visibility to zero at times. pic.twitter.com/mavoUgGqpp

In addition, the City of Buffalo has closed the Skyway in both directions due to severe weather.
A spokesperson for the city says drivers should take an alternate route to avoid the Skyway.
