A strong cold front will cross WNY this afternoon and bring showers and thunderstorms to the area. A marginal shot for some storms to become severe with damaging winds and heavy rain through the evening is possible.
3PM-5PM - Scattered heavy rain showers and few thunderstorms develop across the S.Tier. Rain showers approach and pass Buffalo between 4PM-5PM which may slow the afternoon commute down some.
5PM-7PM - stronger storms possible across the S.Tier as front passes WNY between Dunkirk and Warsaw to start and finish with Ellicottville to Wellsville around 7PM.
7PM-9PM: Heavy rain and strongest storms across northern Pennsylvania.
The threat for severe with with strong winds will primarily be across the S.Tier during the afternoon/evening commute with gusty winds and torrential rain.
